Credo Interactive Inc.
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Credo Interactive is an innovator in creating dance animation products, content and solutions for choreography and education. Credo was founded by Dr. Thomas (Tom) W. Calvert, Simon Fraser University.
At Credo Interactive, we specialize in 3D animation software with a particular focus on the teaching and choreography of dance. Our award-winning Life Forms and DanceForms choreography software easily integrate with your work, whether it's in the classroom, the studio, or with your suite of digital tools for movement research and analysis. Our libraries provide a rich array of motion capture and animation clips ranging from ballet to everyday activities.
Edit and expand animated and motion capture content, including the comprehensive BalletMoves II collection, with Life Forms or DanceForms to enhance your choreography and other 3D projects. Visual artists, dancers, performance and theatre professionals agree: Life Forms and DanceForms are the premiere solutions for choreographic pre-visualization with key poses and textual notation in the timeline.
In collaboration with the Simon Fraser University Moving Stories Project (movingstories.ca) at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, Credo software and content are now freely available for download at www.charactermotion.com/df-download.html

Approaches to the Representation of Human Movement: Notation, Animation and Motion Capture (T.W. Calvert, 2015). Approaches based on different notation systems, keyframe animation and motion capture each have unique advantages but no one offers a comprehensive approach. The unique advantages of several approaches are discussed together with attempts to combine approaches. We specifically describe the LabanDancer prototype designed to translate notation into animation, thus providing visualization of the notation. The potential for a truly comprehensive approach is also explored.

Merce Cunningham has said:
"...Life Forms [DanceForms] is not revolutionizing dance but expanding it, because you see movement in a way that was always there - but wasn't visible to the naked eye."
